I recently found a Freeware application and web service Dropbox. It instantaneously backs up and syncs your files over the Internet and to any computer. After you install the application, it will create a Dropbox folder on your hard drive. Any file you put inside that folder will automatically be synced and monitored for changes, and each time a change is saved, it backs up and syncs the file again. Even better, Dropbox does revision history, so if you accidentally saved a file and wanted to revert to an old version or deleted a file, Dropbox can recover any previous version. Here is how easy it is to set up:

1. Download and install Dropbox here

It’ll only take a minute, and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to use.

2. Put some files in the Dropbox folder on your computer.

Click here to get your files from the web.

3. Install Dropbox on a second computer.

Put files in Dropbox on one computer and they’ll automatically sync to the other.

It’s that simple! Now you don’t have to carry USB Thumb Drive or worry about loosing it and all your data along with it. No need to set up a complicated FTP server or pay for a remote control service. I will follow up in a few week to give an update on my experience…

Yesterday news broke that Circuit City would announce the imminent closure of 155 retail locations, and this morning the company confirmed the news. The stores will be closed Today November 4, 2008 but will re-open for a 1 day Super Sale! Here is the complete list of the stores.

Circuit City is sinking fast, but their loss is your gain! A tip coming in to Kotaku has revealed that the chain has begun discounting popular gaming gear. Apparently customers can now expect 5% off all consoles and their games, 10% off all accessories, 10% off “social games” like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, 10% off PC games and 10% off strategy guides. These figures are a rumor at this point, but Circuit City will certainly be discounting items to liquidate inventory from their 155 defunct stores. However, these deals may not be as great as bargain hunters might expect.
